During the second round of the V-League HAGL FC vs Hai Phong FC, Nguyen Tuan Anh suffered a knee injury during the match. He was replaced at the same time as he was injured, and he was immediately examined at the hospital. The result was right knee ligament injury, requiring rehabilitation for more than 3 months. Nguyen Tuan Anh, who had already had surgery history on both knees, had to leave the field again in the second game of new season.
Nguyen Tuan Anh, who had not been able to play well in recent years with continued knee injuries, wanted to return to ground after a quick rehabilitation. It was because the Asian Games in August and the Suzuki Cup in October were very important for his career. However, the idea of the head coach, the general manager and the president of HAGL FC were different. They thought that Nguyen Tuan Anh had a lot of knee surgery, so he had to be cured by proper treatment in this time. They hoped he would return to the ground after full treatment. And they wanted him to have surgery and rehabilitation in Korea where the rehabilitation treatment system is advanced.
On April 11, Nguyen Tuan Anh successfully completed ligament reconstruction at the 'Wooridul Hospital' in Seoul, Korea after an hour and a half operation. Surgery was carried out with the full support of the ‘Wooridul Hospital’, and all payments were made at the ‘Wooridul Hospital’ during the hospitalization.
Dr. Eun Sang Soo performed the operation of
Nguyen Tuan Anh. He is one of the most prestigious knee surgeons in Korea. He
is also the chief physician of the Korean national tennis team and is an
authority on sports medicine.
Dr. Eun said, "Arthroscopic
examination of the injured area revealed that the ligament was not completely
ruptured. However, ligaments are strained too much, so it is not enough for him
to return the ground by rehabilitation only. Therefore, ligament reconstruction
surgery was performed and the operation was successful. In addition, the area that
had previously operated on meniscal was not treated properly, so we treated
this part also.”
Nguyen Tuan Anh is scheduled to undergo
rehabilitation for a few months after admission in the ‘Wooridul Hospital’. He
will return to Vietnam after rehabilitation is over.
