Endoscopic cervical disc procedure was performed for the Vietnamese patient with cervical disc disease who could not raise his arms overhead

President of Cheongdam Wooridul Hospital Dr. Junseok Bae successfully performed endoscopic cervical disc procedure on November 24, 2017 in Vietnam, Hanoi and he received great deal of local media attention.

The procedure was done for the Vietnamese patient with cervical disc disease who could not raise his arms overhead. There was a heated competition to cover this issue by local media including Vietnam national broadcasting VTV, as the endoscopic cervical disc procedure requires a high degree of skill.

Dr. Bae was invited by Viet Duc Hospital(Korea-Vietnam Friendship Hospital), and the training course was conducted with a combination of procedures and lectures about endoscopic cervical procedure.

Dr. Bae said “It feels very meaningful that we taught them our independent surgical skills for the first time in Vietnam which is the wasteland of endoscopic spine surgery. We will continue to pass on our skills through medical and educational exchanges.

The patient was able to raise his arm immediately
after undergoing successful procedure.
